CHARITIES

Here at Laughing Gas, we like to do our bit to support worthy causes! Please read on to hear what it's all about!

Matt has always been a keen supporter of Charity. Since birth, Matt  had a hole in his heart. So for decades he has supported The British Heart Foundation.

Matt has been actively involved in Charity for many years, so it's not surprising he decided to bring that into what LAUGHING GAS is all about.

We believe that in life, if you look great you feel great! And sometimes, for many people, things happen which really is life changing - and sometimes some one needs a helping hand...

Matt's life has been touched by many people passing in his life. From the start of his Theatre days in 2005, there was tragedy. At The Playhouse Theatre, Theatre Studio members lost a great student called Alex Ross. Over the years as Matt and his new found friends grew up, they remembered Alex and did everything to raise money for The Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal, which supports Bristols Children's Hospital, where Alex stayed before tragically departing us all. So it's not surprising that Matt would happily help raise money through Laughing Gas.

Matt did not only raise money through the company, but he set himself personal challenges to raise money and awareness. Matt set himself up for a chest wax, which is very painful - especially if you have seen his chest (Check out the video on the Charity Video page)

As well as the chest wax - a mini incentive - he plummeted to the ground in a Sky Dive in April - which was for the same charity. This charity is close to Matt and his friends hearts and he will continue to bring happiness and support to the Appeal for as long as he continues performing.

Not only supporting an understated Charity like the Wallace and Gromit Appeal, Matt supported a local campaign.

Ayllah Beau Foley is a local girl who struggled to eat or drink. This was hell for Beau as she became really sick and was living her life attached to a feeding tube. The NHS initially rejected an operation which would allow a pacemaker to help Beau digest her food. After a facebook launch, the campaign blew up to over 8000 people!

Matt wanted to do anything he could to help. He instantly added a campaign badge on to his poster and went into the town centre and gave out flyers to the public explaining the cause he was supporting. Matt managed to get loads of awareness out there and he also convinced an advertising bike manager to lend him a bike to help promote the cause. Beau and her family made it to the gig on the night and they all enjoyed themselves, putting the last dark two years behind them.

The whole event ended with tears as Becky Carter, a local singer, came on stage and sang an encore of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' which became Beau's campaign song when Becky got in touch to help! What Beau didn't know was that Matt has various ways and means of persuading people to do surprises! And so Becky did Matt's show. They had never met before, but the created a memory that will last forever.

Matt's heart is incorrigible, he loves to help and will continue to support causes close to his heart. Many may think of Matt as a showman who's out to show off, but he's always giving!

Laughing Gas would like to thank you for helping Matt, as without you, he wouldn't have been able to achieve half of what he has.

God Bless
